Steps to Take
After Being Abused
1. What To Do Now
Your safety is the most important thing.
- Move to a safe space if possible.
- Try to preserve any potential evidence.
- Seek medical attention
- You have the right to report the assault to the police, and we can help you through this process.
2. Preserving Evidence
Try not to wash, shower, or change clothes before a medical examination. This can help preserve crucial evidence.
If you have to change, Save all the clothes you are wearing in a paper bag. (Brown bag)
However, your health and safety are paramount, so seek medical help immediately regardless.
